Paulina nieroda
Board member
Paulina “Nova” Born in Poland and raised in the U.S. since childhood, Paulina, known to most of her clients as “Nova,” began ballroom dancing at 9 years old in 1997. By the time she was just 10 years old, she and her brother became U.S. Champions, representing the country at the World Championships in the Czech Republic. She went on to earn that honor multiple times throughout her competitive career, while also sharing her passion for dance by teaching kids competitively and adults socially. She also lived in Charlotte, North Carolina for a few years to further her dance career.
In 2012, while still active in ballroom, she also began a second career in finance. For nearly eight years she worked in the cash advance industry, gaining experience in a completely different world while continuing her dance journey.
In 2017, during a facial, an esthetician who was a former Vietnamese brow champion made a funny remark, telling Nova she had “Chaotic90’s Brows.” That playful comment stuck with her and sparked an obsession that eventually grew into a career. Curious and determined, Nova trained, became certified, and has been practicing permanent makeup ever since.
After the pandemic, she let go of finance and ballroom completely and fully transitioned into permanent makeup. Today, she runs her own beauty business, Nova Dama, in Berkeley Heights, specializing in brows, lashes and permanent makeup artistry.
Nova is known for her resilience, humor, and dedication to helping people feel their best. She is proud to already be part of the Berkeley Heights community through her business and excited to expand that involvement even further.
