Patrick Smith
Chairperson Emeritus
Dr. Patrick Smith is the Clinic Director of Smith Chiropractic Family Care & Sports Injury Center and has been in practice in Berkeley Heights for over 34 years.
A strong advocate for local business involvement in the community, he served as the Vice Chairman of the local Chamber of Commerce, in charge of the Berkeley Heights chapter, for over 10 years. He has also held multiple township committee positions including Communication, Veterans Memorial Park, Pepper Town Park, and Economic Development.
In 2017 Dr. Smith joined forces with Paul Neuwirth and other BH business community members to create Berkeley Height Business & Civic. The mission was to provide business owners with opportunities to “be known” within the community of Berkeley Heights by staying closely connected to local government, residents, and fellow business owners.
Dr. Smith is also the Chairman of Smith Chiropractic Foundation which has hosted the BH5K Charity Road Race & Fitness walk each September at Memorial Field. Over the last 26 years this annual event has raised over $314,000 in charitable funds.
Paul Neuwirth
Vice Chairperson, Treasurer
Paul Neuwirth is president/owner of Taylor Rental Center of Berkeley Heights and Taylor Rental Party Plus of South Plainfield, N.J. The Neuwirth family opened Taylor Rental of Berkeley Heights in 1969 in the former Berkeley Lanes bowling alley and will celebrate their 53rd year in business this June.
Mr. Neuwirth is a founding member of the Berkeley Heights Business & Civic, was a two-time president of the BH Rotary Club, is a member of the advisory council for the Berkeley Heights YMCA, a founding member of the New Jersey Chapter of the International Special Events Society, and former owner of Fun Services of Berkeley Heights, a full service corporate event and fundraising company. Paul spent three terms as the Berkeley Heights representative on the Suburban Chambers of Commerce. A long-time resident of New Providence, he was also an active member of the New Providence Centennial Committee.
Paul and his wife, Denise, a registered nurse for Atlantic Health/Morristown Hospital, have two grown children and two grand girls. They are both avid cyclists who enjoy the opportunity to see the country on two wheels.
Bobbie Peer
Secretary
Bobbie Peer has been the owner and editor of TAPinto Berkeley Heights since 2013 and has subsequently expanded her business to include TAPinto Mountainside, TAPinto New Providence, TAPinto Basking Ridge and TAPinto Bernardsville & Bedminster. Her enthusiasm for community involvement has driven her passion for TAPinto as the source of news on which residents can rely.
TAPinto is a hyperlocal, franchised online news source providing daily news to communities in 95+ communities across New Jersey. With content targeted specifically at these local communities,TAPinto strives to provide objective, relevant news to its growing readership. Bobbie has a passion for helping local businesses succeed through her marketing partnerships.
Since leaving her insurance brokerage career in New York to raise her four children, Bobbie has remained active in her community by joining organizations that focus on giving back. She has held board and leadership roles with the Newcomers Club of Summit, New Providence and Berkeley Heights; Summit Junior Fortnightly Club; Berkeley Heights PTO; Berkeley Heights Education Foundation; Berkeley Heights Township Beautification Committee; the American Red Cross, Suburban Chamber of Commerce, Basking Ridge Business Alliance, and is one of the originators of the annual Berkeley Heights Winter Walk.
Chris Wang
Chris Wang is Managing Partner and Director of Research of Runnymede Capital Management, a registered investment advisor serving families and institutions since 1993. He frequently appears in financial media, including Schwab Network, Reuters, CNBC, and Barron’s. He has been named multiple times to the Investopedia 100 List of Top Financial Advisors.
Chris is a strong advocate of local businesses, particularly those in New Jersey. In November 2018, he and his brother Andy launched the video series Buy Local NJ, which promotes and celebrates locally owned businesses. The series has featured over 150 businesses and Chris loves the fact that every single business gives back to the local community. During the 2020 pandemic, Chris played a key role in editing and creating the BHBC video that helped raise over $100,000 in grant money for Berkeley Heights businesses.
Chris is active in his community, serving on the town’s Economic Development Committee and the Lunar New Year planning committee. He was Chair of the March of Dimes “March for Babies” walk in 2017 and 2018, during which over $200k was raised for prematurity research.
Chris and his wife, Lili, have lived in Berkeley Heights since 2009 and their daughter is a student at CMS. They have a house full of pets with their Maltese, Coco, and 4 cats: Kiki, Star, Sage and Hazel.
Kristina Brusco
Kristina Brusco is the co-owner and Business Director at Diamond Hill Montessori School here in Berkeley Heights. She is a faithful advocate for Montessori education and actively volunteers with NJMAC, New Jersey’s Montessori Association Corporation. She has spearheaded partnerships with countless local community groups, which echoes its dedication to modeling community service for its young citizens while providing essential resources to those in need.
Kristina’s contributions extend far beyond the walls of Diamond Hill. She is an active member of the Berkeley Heights Women’s Club, valued participant in the Berkeley Heights public schools and is always willing to lend a helping hand where needed. Through her dedication to education, outreach and autonomy, she has left an indelible mark on our community, with so many more big plans yet to come.
She and her husband, Michael, live in Berkeley Heights with their school-aged daughter. Kristina is a born and raised Jersey girl and enjoys spending as much time as she can down the shore with her family.
