Calling all residents, businesses, clubs, and non-profit organizations

Now is the time for your business or organization to start planning for the biggest event of the summer! After a two-year pandemic hiatus, Berkeley Heights Business & Civic has announced the return of the overwhelming popular Berkeley Heights Downtown Summer Block Party! Scheduled for Sunday, June 5, 2022 – earlier in the year to allow more participation before the summer recess – from 1:00-4:00 pm, (a shorter time frame to assist church traffic on Sunday), the Downtown Summer Block Party will be held on Springfield Ave., from Snyder Ave. to Plainfield Ave. The timing of the event has also been arranged to allow residents to visit downtown restaurants before, during or after the event. Open to the public, with free rides and activities for kids, the Block Party will be a celebration of everything that is Berkeley Heights – Businesses, schools – public and private – restaurants, youth groups, clubs, service organizations, churches, sports groups, township departments and first responders. Less a fundraiser (any profits, after expenses, will be split between the town’s First Responders), the Block Party will feature local entertainers, rides, games, food trucks and activities. Each organization will be asked to provide an activity or give-away at their booth site. Those businesses or organizations that can’t attend in person have the opportunity to sponsor children’s activities. Local entertainers are being sought for the main stage, sponsored by Union County Freeholders. If you would like to showcase your garage band, dance group, martial arts club, this is your chance to shine. Sponsorships are now available, and we are currently taking reservations for activity space. Do you have an activity that will spotlight your business or organization? It’s a great time to promote your organization – all local service clubs and non-profits will be on the street. Have a local restaurant? Be known! Companies that sponsor a ride or activity will be promoted on the ride and on all press releases. Join local businesses: The Liberty Group, Delicious Heights, Tapinto, Massage Envy, Smith Chiropractic and Taylor Rental Center as sponsors for this year’s festivities. Berkeley Heights Business & Civic is an organization made up of local retail, service and professional businesses who are working hand in hand with local government for the benefit of all residents of Berkeley Heights. Networking, education and promoting the Berkeley Heights business community are organization objectives.
